If the Sixers want to finish off this series in Toronto and avoid tempting fate with a Game 7, they'll have to execute better offensively. The Sixers averaged 91.1 points per 100 possessions against the Raptors on Monday, shot 38.3% from the field and lost the turnover battle by seven. Their execution was dreadful.
But focusing too much on the Sixers' meager offensive output ignores the fact that they were pretty wretched defensively as well. That was easy to overlook, since Toronto's 109.9 offensive rating was a pretty mediocre numbers as well, coming in at just the 32nd percentile. But that was largely because they shot just 8-31 from 3.
The Raptors shot an astounding 66.7% on shots inside the arc in Game 5, which is probably more representative of the Sixers' overall effort and defensive execution. If Toronto made even a decent amount of their shots from deep, Monday night's game would have been a blowout.
