Week in Review: Sixers kick off 2022-23 season with inexcusable 0-3 start

Thoughts on the 0-3 start; statistical trends that stand out; content you may have missed.

John Geliebter-USA TODAY Sports

The Sixers are off to an 0-3 start to a season where they had sky-high expectations coming in, and rightfully so. They came out sluggish in the opener against the Celtics, blew a game because of inexcusable mental mistakes against the Bucks, then allowed the overmatched San Antonio Spurs to come into the Wells Fargo Center on the tail end of a back-to-back and hang 114 points on the Sixers in a game where Doc Rivers' squad should have played with a sense of desperation that just wasn't there.

It's still early enough to recover from, of course, but there's absolutely no way to sugarcoat it: that was a bad, inexcusable, and infuriating week of basketball from the Philadelphia 76ers. Thank goodness for the Phillies.

This is a return of the Sixers Week in Review newsletter, where I will recap what happened last week in Sixers land, take a look at some statistical trends, both good and bad, provide links to content that you should check out and add in any stray thoughts on various topics that I hadn't written about over the previous seven days.
