Are the Sixers locked in as the 3rd seed?

The Sixers not catch the Celtics for the #2 seed. Maybe that's a good thing.

For a half of basketball it seemed as though Tyrese Maxey might singlehandedly will the Sixers to victory against the Denver Nuggets, who own a 32-6 record at the Ball Arena. Then, for a brief moment, before a questionable (at best) call, it seemed as though Jaden Springer and crew might actually erase a 20-point fourth quarter deficit against the two-time reigning MVP.

But, alas, the Sixers lost their third straight game, this one a 116-111 loss to the Denver Nuggets. It's the Sixers' third straight defeat, the first time they've lost three in a row since early December. Add in last Monday's loss to the Bulls and the Sixers have dropped four out of their last five, all but killing any hope they had of capturing that #2 seed from the Boston Celtics.

Maybe that's a good thing.
