After our show ended at PHLY on Wednesday night, I made a massive mistake: I went into the city to sit down and have a bite to eat.
Rookie move.
In my defense, I was pretty sure that the Sixers were done making moves, at least for a little bit. Dean Wade had taken up the majority of mid-level exception, and their next move was for Ariel Hukporti, an offensively-limited big man who had played just nine minutes per game last year. Kelly Oubre Jr and Quentin Grimes, the Sixers' two most important free agents, had signed with Los Angeles and Indy, respectively.
The Sixers had two open roster spots left, but only a few small exceptions left to work with. Surely, I could at the very least afford to wander around town and grab a little bit of food before starting my long commute home.
I could not.
